Our family has been vacationing on the Emerald Coast for as long as I can remember. It started in 1960 when our Aunt Julie bought a modest cottage in Inlet Beach. Back then, this area of the Florida Panhandle, with its pristine sandy white beaches, was virtually unknown. Over the last several decades, new seaside developments, restaurants, and trendy shops have sprung up. Today the South Walton coastline draws tourists from all over and offers something for everyone. Shamrock Villa is one of many cottages our aunt bought over the years. Sadly, our Anut Julie has passed away, but Shamrock Villa is still part of our family. Over the years it has been modernized and updated but still retains that old beach cottage charm.

Inlet Beach is located between Panama City and Destin in Walton County and is positioned at the east end of fashionable Scenic Highway 30A. Shamrock Villa, located on the beach side of 30A & Highway 98, is on a quiet residential street just steps from the sugary-white sandy beach. If you're not a beach bum, South Walton is considered a golfer's paradise. There are numerous golf courses in the area. However, if golf isn't you're thing, you can take a morning stroll on the beach or cycle the 18-mile bike path that winds along Scenic 30A passing several lakes and National parks, unique shops and restaurants, and offers gorgeous views of the Gulf. Moreover, there is always something going on at Rosemary Beach or Seaside including markets, craft fairs, free outdoor concerts, local theatre and much more. Also, Pier Park, in west Panama City Beach, does a free outdoor concert series every Thursday evening from 7:00 -9:00 pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For more information, call 850.233.5070. In addition, the brand new Pier Park entertainment complex offers the Grand Theatre 16-Plex cinema as well as 900,000 square feet of open-air shopping, attractions and luxury dining. You can enjoy a fantastic selection of restaurants and cafes or watch the sun set from the newly renovated pier and Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville!
